On-Page SEO
On-page SEO is a performing modification method within the web pages in order to rank higher. The On-Page optimization is the process of enhancing our web page in all aspects to make it optimized so that it will easer to be crawled by google and to make it user-friendly and understandable
Snippet
The snippet is the portion of the website that showed when we search for it on google. Normal snippet includes title, URL and meta description.
Here the title is the heading of the website and meta description is the description of the website given inside.
On-Page Optimization Techniques
Title Optimization
- Here the title should be 3 or more words. The character in the title tag is limited to 55 to 60 characters.
- The title tag must be doesn't exceed 512 pixels. Some letter takes more pixels according to the letter width.
- The title should not be written in full caption letters which in turn increase the pixel width
- Spelling mistakes in SEO Title greatly affects the website than other mistakes.
- SEO Title must be unique. Otherwise, title duplication occurs.And result in cannibalism,that is a competition within the website.
If no SEO Title is present then the h1 part of the body will be displayed as a title. if h1 also not present, then h2 will be displayed by the google on its publication and if a website is reached from a link in a powerful website, that link will be displayed as the title.
Meta Tags
The content on the web page is given in the meta tag. The meta description is the portion shown in the title of the website which describe the content briefly.
- The character limit in the meta description of a page is 155 to 160. For a blog post, it is 155 characters. Because blog post shows its posted date.
- Pixel width is limited to 1024 pixels
- The meta description must be unique.
h1 and h2 Optimization
If a page didn't have an SEO title. Then Google shows its content in h1 tag as a title. More than one h1 tag results in the sandbox. Sandbox is a temporary storage area. Google gets confused while caching when more than one h1 headings occurred. So google stores it into the sandbox. Websites dropped in the sandbox doesn't get any ranking. If h1 tag has no heading then Google goes to the h2 tag. And shows heading in h2 tag as the title.
Content Optimization
It is the optimization of the links which are given inside the content. It is done by using the anchor tag. The visible portion in the content given inside the tag is the anchor text.Given some anchor text inside the content will boost up the crawling process. Don't give another website as a hyperlink in the hypertext which is named as the focusing keyword which in turn decrease the credit of our website.
Keyword Optimization
It is good to use the keyword phrases in some portions of the content which makes the content more relatable with the focusing keyword and makes the content more authentic with respect to the focusing keyword
Image Optimization
The image is added using the img tag where the path is given as the src. It also has the alt tag which describes the image and makes it understandable for google. The filename of the image is suggested to be the description of the image.
